One disadvantage of many flow meters on critical hygenic applications is the difficulty in cleaning. Small cavities may retain fluid leading to bacteria growth and cross contamination across different products. Lutz has developed the non contact flow meter for use on the B70V range of pumps to eliminate this as a potential problem. Using a sensor to detect the motor shaft rotation the flow meter can calculate the volume discharged reliably and accurately. The modular design of the Lutz flow meter range is retained allowing for expansion of features such as batch control, centralised communication, and many more features.
The Lutz non-contact flow meter can be expanded to other types of positive displacement pumps allowing for retrofitting to many existing pump units. This economical feature allows operators to add advanced flow meaurement and batch controlling to existing units without the purchase of a new pump assembly.
