Some fluids settle and seperate out when stored over a period of time in drums and containers and require agitation prior to decanting. The Lutz range of MP (Mixing Pumps) take care of this all in a single unit. Simply switch the pump to 'mixing' and special ports are opened up along the length of the pump tube, rapidly mixing up all fluid in the container. Once sufficiently blended the pump can be turned to 'pump' and the mixing channels are sealed and the unit is ready to rapidly empty out your vessel. Combining a Stainless Steel mixing pump with either a Lutz certified hazardous area motor (ME series) or a compressed air motor will allow you to carry out this operation on flammable fluids or in hazardous rated areas.
Thanks to the modular design of Lutz pumps, the preferred choice of driving motors is up to you. The Lutz ME range of electric motors are rated to the highest levels of intrinisc safety for hazardous areas. Alternatively operators may choose to use one of the Lutz MD range of powerful, yet compact compressed air motors. Both options are safe for use in hazardous areas.
Many Lutz drum pump accessroies are also certified for use on highly inflammable liquids. This includes nozzles, flow meters, batching systems, and drum adaptors. Process Pumps can also ensure that the correct discharge hose is used for hazardous applications. Care must be taken to eliminate static charge and Process Pumps is available to assist you with your selection.
